We are seeking a skilled and analytical Sales Data Analyst to support our sales, marketing, and service teams with high-impact reporting and strategic insights. This role is ideal for a data-driven professional with strong business acumen and a deep understanding of sales performance metrics, pricing, and customer behavior. You will focus heavily on sales reporting, forecasting, and analysis to guide decision-making, improve customer service strategies, and drive revenue. The ideal candidate will be comfortable generating customer-driven reports, translating raw data into clear, actionable insights that support internal decision-making and improve external customer satisfaction and promote business growth. Advanced Excel skills are essential, with QlikView and IFS ERP experience considered strong assets. We are seeking a talented and experienced Sales Data Analyst to join our dynamic team in the building materials industry. As a Sales Data Analyst, you will play a crucial role in supporting our sales, marketing, and service teams by providing data reporting, competitive analysis, forecasting, and actionable insights to drive strategic decision-making.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Sales & Customer-Focused Reporting

  • Analyze and report on sales performance, customer buying patterns, and revenue trends
  • Create and maintain advanced Excel-based dashboards, pivot tables, and pricing reports
  • Develop customer-specific reporting packages that translate complex data into usable, decision-ready insights for internal stakeholders and customer-facing teams
  • Support sales forecasting and territory/account trend analysis
  • Identify performance gaps, market opportunities, and support pricing strategy initiatives

Strategic Support & Collaboration

  • Partner with Sales, Marketing, and Customer Service to provide actionable insights that inform strategy
  • Translate sales and customer data into clear, easy-to-understand reporting for business users
  • Assist in monitoring key sales metrics (e.g., customer conversion rates, channel performance, rebates)
  • Support account-level reporting needs tied to customer contracts, performance targets, or pricing agreements
  • Work on special projects and cross-functional initiatives as advised by management

System & Data Management

  • Maintain statistical master data fields in the ERP system
  • Utilize QlikView dashboards for visualization and deeper data exploration
  • Ensure data quality and consistency across internal reporting systems
  • Demonstrate comfort exploring or applying AI/BI tools that enhance data interpretation

Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of experience in a data analysis or sales reporting role, preferably in a B2B or manufacturing/building materials environment
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel: pivot tables, dashboards, macros, advanced formulas, and automation
  • Experience building and interpreting customer-facing or customer-impactful reports
  • Hands-on experience with QlikView highly preferred
  • Experience with ERP systems (IFS is a plus)
  • Strong understanding of sales operations, customer behavior, and performance metrics
  • Excellent attention to detail, critical thinking, and pattern recognition
  • Effective communicator-able to convey complex data to non-technical audiences
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Finance, or related field-or equivalent work experience

Work Arrangement:

Hybrid: Office/Remote (3 in office/2 remote) – after successful completion of job training period

Level: Mid-level Salary: $75,000–$80,000 (commensurate with experience)

Important Notes: This is a local, hybrid position based in Illinois. Candidates must be currently authorized to work in the U.S. (without current or future visa sponsorship). Relocation assistance is not provided.

  • Regularly use (and repetitive movement) of hands, wrists, and fingers to handle, control or feel objects – laptop, phone/keyboard/mouse, etc.
  • Regularly required to speak , hear and view multiple screens.
  • Regularly required to sit for long periods of time.
