We call this the FTA. We are excited to join you on site and help make your first wedi installation a true success. To get the most value out of our time together, there are just four things that you’ll need to have ready before we arrive: the product, the job site, the tools and yourself. Let’s walk through each one briefly.<\/p>\n Before our visit, please confirm which wedi system and shower base you’ll be installing, the exact shower size, the drain location (relative to the walls and the curb). Remember, accurate measurements are critical measure from the center of the drain to each wall and to the curb. You can use the wedi Technical Handbook to select the correct product and confirm with your local wedi Distributor that all materials are on site and ready before installation day.<\/p>\n Your job site must be ready before we arrive, so we can focus on training and not fixing framing or other construction issues, so please make sure: that the sub floor is solid, flat and level with no bounce or deflection, the two inch drain pipe is installed and accessible, the height needed can vary depending on the installation. It’s best to have the pipe stubbed up above the sub floor for flexibility. Our mock up here has multiple holes for different wedi shower bases and configurations. You’re going to have one hole on your job site. Most wedi bases require a five inch hole, and our curbless base requires a six and a half inch hole. Make sure the wall framing is straight plumb and square, and blocking is installed between studs, as you see here. Proper prep ensures a smooth, efficient installation.<\/p>\n For a successful installation, there are a few tools that you’re going to want to have on site the day we’re putting in the wedi shower. \u00a0A couple buckets to mix your thin set mortar to set the shower base, and with that – trowels and a thin set mixer. You’ll want a circular saw on site as well (if you’re customizing or cutting down the wedi shower base), an impact driver or a drill for the screws and the washers for the wedi building panels, and some basic hand tools as well – levels a speed square and a good tape measure, utility knife and a medium flat head screw driver to tighten up our Click and Seal drain. Also important is the proper PPE. You’ll have a dust mask, eye protection and ear protection, but never forget the wedi sausage gun and putty knives for the joint sealant installation. One of those putty knives being the famous wedi corner putty knife. Having these tools on site and ready will ensure a proper and smooth wedi installation.<\/p>\n We strongly recommend reviewing wedi resources ahead of time – the technical handbook, installation manuals or videos found on wedicorp.com and QR codes found on our product packaging. This helps us focus on hands-on guidance, tips and best practices, instead of starting from square one.<\/p>\n Now that we’ve covered how to prepare you for your wedi installation, a dedicated wedi Technical Sales Support Manager will join you on site.
